  1. Hey Swede. In case you were worried about me. I'm alive and kicking. And i just left footprints in the snow across the bluff and north side of the creek. Not much moving down there. Bumped a couple does on me and a couple more on you. Yup, i trespassed...

  2. The buck in the pic i sent is still kickin! I saw him tonight after some does in my west hayfield. Pretty impressive animal! Pretty sure he is the same one we saw the day down by the big cottonwood tree Swede

  3. Kind of a crazy day. Was at the creek crossing in the sunshine with Swede and the ol man, takin in the sunshine, watching the honey bees and deer. An hour later it went to hell. Power went. Storm radio went. Portable radio went. Cell phone wouldnt work. Generator did tho! Time to reorganize my gear i guess. But in the end, all is well on this side of the creek valley

  4. The tie rod is fixed and on the samurai    gen165.gif  After a major melt down at the auto parts store when they kept ordering the wrong parts.  :argue:

Nothing but a thing Swede! Dont get your blood pressure all up!

I'll be around to pull ya outta the trees when ya stick it somewhere too...

Just put it on the IOU...

  5. in the imortal words of forest gump, stupid is what stupid does....

I just heard on the news that this bill stalled for now in the Senate. Apperently they knew better that to try pushing such a sweeping, not well thought out thing thru.

The bad reality is, it is just the beginning...keep some storage space open Razor...

  6. I live in Illinois and I have to have a firearm owners card issued by the government in order for me to posses a firearm, by one or buy ammunition. I cant get a card if I have a felony conviction or if I get one after getting my card. If I get a felony the ATF will come to my house and take every gun and bullet I have in the house and I never get them back Even if my wife has a card and the guns are hers they take all of them because there cant be a firearm in a house where a felon lives.

Chicago Illinois has the distinction of having the most firearm deaths in the nation. Whats up with that?

Wonder how you could find out how many of the 500 shot or the shooters involved had valid Illinois FOID cards. Could make for some good debate material

  7. My main rifles are .243 Winchester for coyotes. Remington 700 BDL bolt and Remington 7600 pump. I prefer my own loads. I buy new cases or use once fired cases. That way I dont have to trim cases. I use Nosler 70 gr Teflon tip or V-Max 75 gr. boat tail with polymer tips. Large rifles primers. Hodgdon 380 42 gr. or Varget 38 gr. I weigh each powder drop. Full resize and debur with a Lee hand loader deburing tool.

That information to a media talking head would be Chinese. So dont sit there and talk guns to me. They dont know what the hell their talking about.

    Swede you silver tounged devil...

    Makin my heart race!

  8. I dont want to have to belong to a "gun club" to own my firearms. Granted my life is alot different from many of the people of America. I have worked hard for what i have, nothing has been givin to me. Part of the American dream. I love the history involved with guns. The mechanical side of them. Their evolution. They have always been in my life. Many enjoyable hours spent plinking and reloading. They are a part/tool in my life now, just like my trucks, tractors and 4 wheelers as i roam the hills and valleys around here. Guess i was raised differently than the world we now live in. That in its self is a shame.

  9. i saw a post online that said these mass shooters always seem to hit "soft" targets like schools. They never try it at an NRA convention. Wonder why that is? Maybe they should try the Cedar creek valley...Swede has a survival rifle...

  10. I think you might be on to something here. House the methheads and hoodlums in the leaky roof, rundown, asbestos filled underfunded facilities we call school buildings. Move the students to the high tech, secure, camera monitored, heavily funded prison facilities.

The thugs might staighten up to get out...the kids would be safe and well educated...and i can keep my firearms.

    Food for thought!

  11. ~ Maybe we should have school in a Bank....  or in the Mall. They have armed guards there. How about a prison? Instead of In school suspension, we can just sentence the kids to hard time for a couple of hours, that ought to straighten them right on up. I doubt any shooter wants to go into a prison and start some shit. Kids call school prison anyway....  now it really WILL be one! Also, prisoners need to finish school. Plus we can upgrade the schools and prisons in one fail swoop. Win/Win!

They'll look around at that place and say, DAMN! I better start studying!  :smoke:

  12. I'm quite sure the gun control issue will heat up in the days to come. Nut control is more what is needed, but how does that come to be. Anyone who has studied history knows that "civilized" man has been butchering one another since the recording of those event have begun.

The latest tragedy is just that, a tragedy. For those involved, and for those of us that have watched it unfold.

Yes i am a firearm owner. They have always been a part of my life and i just passed the half century mark. Everyone i know owns firearms. Granted i live in a part of the country where some form of values and common sense still abound.

The media will ride this last event for all the ratings they can get, and like a previous post mentioned, all that will be remembered is the shooter, the guns and the number. The term "assault weapon" will be at the forefront. A term that pisses me off personally.

I wish i had the answer or the reason for what drives some to do what they do. I just refuse to pay the price for their choices.
