    Sorry, been a bit sick.
  3. Wow Been quiet in here....I miss everyone. Not been so well...darn cancer is is really fighting the chemo...or vice versa. They changed the type of chemo I'm taking and it has been kicking my fanny. NO strength lately. Although I AM going to a D-Back game next week for my 50th B-day. I picked up a nice used wheelchair to get around the ballpark, I know I couldn't walk that far at this time. They have an all-you-can-eat section where we got our seats for only $30 each. I may not eat that much but David, Sami and her boyfriend will sure make up for me. Take care all Susan

Hey friends, I have not been on for awhile...the new chemo has been kicking my fanny. Still not sure if this chemo is going to do any better. My lymph nodes are swelling up and I just have had NO energy at all. But I still hang in there day-by-day and take it all as it comes. In fact my youngest Sami is taking me to a D-Backs game in Phoenix for my 50th b-day on the 7th of July! :woot: I picked up a nice used wheelechair (no strength to walk around the ballpark) and I dug out all my team gear. We got seats in the all-you-can-eat section of the park. I may not eat a lot but David, Sami and her boyfriend will make up the difference for me. Well, I'm not going to push my strength tonite....but I will be back SOON to check in with everyone. Take care all, Susan PS I got hair growing back!!! Short, fuzzy and GRAY....but there!

Morning all, You know it is kinda scary...the older I get the more I see my Mom in the mirror. Especially since my hair has started growing back in WHITE. 8| I never tought I would be like my Mom...NOT that that is a bad thing... My Mom at 70 still has the younger guys asking her out all the time...she has a boyfriend just a few months YOUNGER than I am. :woot: HMMMMM....maybe looking like my Mom is not so bad after all. Hi all, The Dr changed my chemo...the other stuff just wasn't doing what we hoped it would do. :'( Unfortunately this new stuff is really kicking my fanny... :puke: AND I have to have it TWO weeks in a row then one week off. As long as it works I can deal with being sick for awhile....besides I can always stand to lose another 20 lbs or so. I have lost 20lbs at this point. At least that is good for my diabetes. Susan
  10. Did you know that there is a statue there on a street corner and a flat bed ford across the street in Winslow? We have pics of them somewhere in our multitude of pics. Susan

Hi all, Well we are back from TX. WHAT A DRIVE!! We made it out there in a straight shot....17 1/2 hours! wacky115.gif I did drive part of the way despite hubby trying to be macho and do the whole trip himself. the wedding was beautiful. It was a Hawaiian theme and held out doors. The weather was perfect...despite a thunderstorm the evening before. The only bad part was the thunderstorm...we were having an out door BBQ for rehearsal dinner and had to move everything under a pavilion to eat. I was able to hold off on my chemo for a week until we got back because the Dr wanted to change the type I'm taking and it takes the insurance company a few days to approve the change. So that worked out OK for me. We took more time on the drive back...stopped at a couple of roadside fruit stands and such. Picked up a few yummies. My brother lives in Winslow AZ about 3/4 of the way back from Dallas and we spent the night there with them. He is a policeman and was on duty when we pulled in...wonder what the neighbors thought when he took his break at the house and pulled up in his patrol car. Well I'm watching my granddaughter and she is chasing the rabbit and cat around the living room...better get of and keep an eye on ALL off them. Be back soon. Susan

  13. WELL.... I'll be off to Texas for a few days. I'm looking forward to getting out this area for awhile, but not really looking forward to the drive itself. I figured out that if we leave at noon our time here we, counting for several breaks in the drive, we should get to my daughter's by noon their time on Friday.

I feel for you and your dad. I found out about my cancer last December....heck of a Christmas present. :ack: Either way, the best thing to do is live one day at a time and enjoy life as much as possible. I have my next chemo tomorrow then the next day David and I are driving to Dallas,TX for our oldest daughter's wedding. I just hope that I feel OK while I'm there. Susan

I always watch the shuttle launches on the NASA channel. They show so much more coverage both before the launch and after. Susan
