  1. Not sure if this is the right place to post this. But, anyway. I read an interesting article about wilderness living and thought some of you might want to check it out. http://www.eco-action.org/dt/wildup.html
  2. Hello.

Hello everyone, I'm from NW Oregon and I've been into survival skills and bushcraft for a few years now and I hope to learn alot and share some ideas with you while I'm here. =]

I'm not really sure about my blood.. I know my dad is Russian and.. Scottish...? I think. And my mom is German and French.. and like I said earlier both claim to have native american. =P
  6. Hello.

They have a nice downtown. There's a big waterfall and suspension bridge which is pretty cool. Other than that though I wasn't too crazy about the surrounding areas. Too much city for me.
  7. Hello.

I'm about thirty miles east of Rockaway Beach/Tillamook. Coos Bay is a little bit of a drive for me. Thanks. I plan on putting up some more, just haven't really gotten around to it yet. And thanks again for all the welcomes! This is definitely a friendly site. =]

    Nice meeting you.
  9. Wool Blankets

I know this is kind of an older topic, but has anyone looked into Pendelton Wool Blankets? They're really really good wool blankets. Their I think 95% wool or something and they don't itch. I heard the Yakima style is good for camping. The only place I've been able to find them is the "Made In Oregon" stores. But you could always order them online. They are a little pricey though.
  10. Campfire Talk

Oops. I guess I'm laggin' behind a bit with my slow internet. =P

  12. Campfire Talk

Yeah, I was talking about in town. Driving way too fast is just normal Californian driving. Heh. Thanks. =]
  13. Campfire Talk

Well.. I'm from NW Oregon(we're pretty used to the roads being wet) and when I go down there to visit family and it rains people freak out and go five mph.

That's pretty cool. I wish I had native American blood. My father and mother both claim I do.. but it's probably a very small amount, if it's even there. =P When I was a littler younger, I think fourteen or fifteen there was a Native American festival going on in my town. There was this classic old looking native American man sitting behind a jewelry stand or something. And we started talking about all the cool necklaces he had and stuff, then I said something like, "I wish I was Native American!" he replied, "If you believe you are Native American in your heart that's all that matters.." So.. I may not be native American (or very little) but I still love 'em and try to be like them. ...I wonder what happened to that guy.. would've been nice to know him.

How much would it be for individual visits? Like an hour a day sort of thing..

And if you can.. try not to think of running as a chore that you have to do in order to lose weight.. Try to have fun. You said you had a family, right? Play tag with your kids, or hot lava. =]

Okay, I understand that you are currently out of shape, and that's fine. I do however think you should try doing the Quadrupedal movements because, in my opinion, I think that is one of the greatest exercises. Also, you can take it slow.. starting out with 20-30 yards or something and then increasing distance(or weight) over time. It may feel a little awkward at first, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. http://www.americanparkour.com/content/view/3415/386/ There's the link if you want to check it out.

No worries. Good luck with your training.

Try a couple of the exercises here: http://www.americanparkour.com/content/category/5/25/386/ Some of the exercises are "parkour specific", but try them out. They will definetly help you get into shape. And I agree with everyone else... try to stay away from the machines.

Wow, those are pretty. Thanks for the links. =]
