  7. New toys came in!

I'm looking forward to your thought's on this item. I've had my eye on it for a time now..
  8. Here's a question that I'm sure will bring a host of answers. What item have you ever forgotten to pack and take on a hike or a bushcraft outting that once out on the trail realized you needed?
  9. I did a shoot out video with the Doan Fire Bar vs The Harbor Freight Fire Bar to show folks a few more dollars spent may save your life.
  10. I've had major issues with the Harbor Freight Fire Starter in the past.. I wouldn't want my life to depend on it starting a fire that's for sure. I'm in the same camp as you I like to buy good gear once.
  11. I had a chance to do a review on the Bio Stove by CaliBarrett. My first impression of the stove is the outstanding quality and the attention to detail that went in to the construction of this stove. All the parts and the construction of this stove is 100% made in the United States of America.
  12. I've been using the Habilis BushTool a lot. I have a review on my YouTube channel where I to some field testing with it.. Great knife.
  13. I'm using a Samsung H300 camcorder. That's my woods camera. Sometimes I video with a GoPro Hero 2, and I'm learing on my Canon t3i. I know the camera was moving a lot but I wanted folks to see this stove with my eyes..
  14. I had a chance to talk to Johnny Barrett the inventor and owner of CaliBarrett. He said it's was really hard to find good quality USA made parts that were affordable. His belief was he wanted to build a 100% USA made item.. I think parts material and labor were a huge factor in the retail cost of the stove. With that said me personally I don't mind spending a few extra dollars to have it made here. I know folks are having a hard time with this economy but if one can afford it this stove will last a lifetime.
  15. Thanks Swede. I try to find useful items folks can use to be prepared not just for wilderness survival but for everyday events. When I talked to Johnny Barrett the inventor of the Bio Stove I was impressed with his passion to deliver a great American made product to folks so they could be better prepared or equipped to handle the crazy events that life will throw at us.
  16. Here's a quick look at the new Fenix LD01 flashlight. The light runs on 1 AAA battery and has 3 light settings of light output. The first setting throws 3 lumens of light for up to 27 hours. The second setting gives off 26 lumens of light for up to 3 hours and 8 minutes. The third setting blasts light at 72 lumens for up to 1 hour and 28 minutes. Coming in at 3 inches long and a 1/2 inch round this light will make a great addition to your EDC kit.
  17. Great to hear it's working out for you! Thanks for the feedback. Merry Christmas
  18. I've had a awesome year of photographing and shooting video of some great local wildlife here in San Diego County. I've been very blessed to be able to be in the right place at the right time with a camera present. I'm glad that I'm able to share those moments now with you.
