Are your Arms Tired? happy097.gif Congrats on going solo, that's quite an acomplishment.
  6. That a great idea, They need to produce larger "Group" or "Community" level units that could do 100's of liters a day or more. When I was in high school, I tried to design a passive solar deselinator, but it had a few issues, I talked with a couple engineers and the thing they pointed out in my design was the build up of salt and minerals extracted from the water. They said my design would clog up in a couple of days. I wonder where the salt and other minerals end up in this device?

My oldest son turns 17 this month. He is one of the kindest people I've ever known and an inspiration to me to be a better person every day. He has an amazing sense of justice that makes him just a wonderful human being to spend time with. He is quite musically inclined, plays the trumpet and sings. Well, he has been a bit lost trying to determine what he wants to do with his future. He knew he wanted to do something with music, but wasn't sure what. My wife works in the schools as a para-educator and helps children with special education needs. My son has observed her in the school with some of these children and admired the work she does with them. Today, he announced that he has finally decided he wants to do music therapy with people with special needs. I never thought of it before, but it really is the absolutely most perfect place for him to go. He gets to do his passion (Music) and continue helping people which is his real calling. I have to say, I have had a lot of happy daddy moments with these kids of mine, but this one really put a big hug around my heart this morning so I had to share.

Best part of cold weather camping is no bugs and no people. LOL We had the entire park to ourselves after the other scouts left after the derby. Had an awesome time.

Camped under a full moon on the snow last night. One of the most beautiful sites there is.

  16. Hello from Florida

Nice to make your acquaintance. Great stuff with the slingshots!
  17. I'm "testing" a camera/camcorder for work. It's the Kodak Playsport ZX5. We field each of the line crew supervisor trucks with a camera, but are upgrading them to these devices for the convenience and so they can record procedures. These things are TOUGH, Water proof, submersible to 10 feet, dustproof, shock proof. (They NEEEEED to be with our crews LOL). AND they are less than $200, so easily in my camera budget for the crews. So I took the test model out on our hikes this weekend. Had a blast. First off, a couple of pics of new foliage coming up. I just love spring and all the new bright green coming up through last years brown detritus . I particularly liked this one because it was growing up in the middle of a hollowed out old pole.
  18. Finally got around to uploading the images from our trip. I'll put some up here, most are already on facebook. Lake Wapello has a restaurant/patio on the lake where the swimming hole is that is open during the summer. it looks like an old fort. LOVE it, particularly when it's abandoned!! Coffee, it made me the man I am today.... Um.... I'd avoid the stuff if i were you!!! Chow time. The annual Christmas Steak dinner! 2 of the knives at the table were custom knives from Gunnery Sgt David Williams (the Norsman, AWESOME guy), 1 was a tops designed by Gunny, and two were designed by another awesome knife guy you all might know Brian Griffin LOL. Yeah, we like good cutlery too. The view to the lake from the cabin. SOOO peaceful with nobody else there. The last day, our family pic before cleaning up the cabin and leaving. Me testing the timer on the camera. Yeah, he's cool like that! My stunning wife cooking the "THIS IS SPARTA Chicken" for supper. LOL Me photobombing, only way I can get in the pics. We all got a big kick out of this one. I was using the good camera on the phone so you can't see the preview, trying to shoot a selfie, and it turned out I cut my middle child out of the picture. (We tease him about being the forgotten middle child), so we will probably have this one blown up and put on the wall at home. LMAO. What the pic really looked like. LOL Middle and youngest boy went out for a hike. My family. :-) Me with the kids. yeah, that guy doesn't give a F^*& about fashion for sure. LOL My wife snuck down to the dock. Had to sneak out and shoot a pic. :-) The view of the cabin from the lake Me and the guys stopping for some caffeine My buddy Ratso from the pond behind the cabin. My young lush.... Luckily it was only sparkling grape juice. Coffee, hike and Kids, what more could ya ask for. Our Christmas tree from the cabin window. Of course I was drinking wine from the good china. (No I didn't load up the thermos with it (only because it was already full of coffee LOL). My all time favorite christmas tree pic. The location, the lighting, the small tree with just a few presents under it. magical. My wife's parents bought the boys new Mossberg shotties for trap team. By the end of the night, all 3 boys (Even the 9 year old) could field strip and put them together like they'd been doing their entire lives. (And I think I lost a few points of hearing from the constant metal on metal sounds LOL). The boy layed out cracked corn piles and apples for the "Reindeer". It was funny because i looked outside at 6:15 and they had not been touched. My wife looked out the window at 6:25 and it was all gone. 5 minutes before the kids got up.
