Hey all Still alive...haven't been much of a hiker lately, decent fishing but just now starting to be more active after the back injury I had at work...blessed to only be on the couch for 3 months. My chirp and physio went well and now back to running 5km! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Totally agreed! Truth be told I wasn't scared because I didn't know what to do...I was actually hoping to try out some of the old skills...I was more alarmed that I actually got turned around. Very surprised at how dependent I am on the sun and river for direction I haven't been thinned out yet so I guess Darwin still wants me around! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I learned to respect the great outdoors yesterday! After hiking in the river hills now for a year and very comfortable with my trails I tried a new area 15 miles away and the temp was perfect and I took a guest...was a few months since last hike and I hadn't packed well as "we were only out for a couple hours" Well the fog hit and I got turned around...5 hours later and 25kms of hard hiking we came out unscathed! Reminder to others and myself: 1) always let people know your start point and plans 2) don't leave your compass at home 3) never underestimate nature and always be prepared Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's an awesome area...I helped a friend move his sister there in the summer...from her back door she is a stones throw to some great trails! What brought u up here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey all been far too long since I dropped a log! On the fire that is 😳 Life has been a little hectic and not really sure when I last engaged but after our tenth anniversary trip to the mountains there hasn't been much nature for this hiker except a few times shore fishing. I did however just get my firearms licence and am planning to tag along with a couple hunters to learn the ropes in November and maybe get some meat to fill the (empty) deep freeze 😊 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wife and I just got back after our tenth anniversary...it was bitter sweet because she and I always thought we'd do a Mediterranean cruise at 10 and couldn't...but we did go white water rafting (level 4 rapids) for the first time, cliff diving and camping in and around Banff! It was a great (child free) re-connecting and a lot of firsts even after a decade together! Good company! Good food and good times! I am a very blessed individual! Hope all is well but the pillow calls and reality will ring soon in my ears...can already feel the whip on my back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
