At camp, once, we saw this bleach-white deer legbone, and nothing else around it. It was just brush covered ground, but the grass looked matted like a deers normal resting spot, and there was just this one legbone. Creepy.

I was out fishing one morning in a pond behind my old house , no wind so the water was calm and i was watching a duck and 3 ducklings swimming across the pond and then about a 10 pound bass came flying out of the water and scooped up one of the ducklings, it was very cool to see raw nature.

A moose you mean?  lol, I have a hawk that lives in the timber, and then lots of bald eagles come and go.  They are such majestic creatures!

This is a very interesting thread.  Just post the weirdest/coolest thing you have seen outdoors.

You mean beside UFOs, Big foot and the swamp thing, just kidding. I use to live in the country and there was a cattle mutliated withing sight of the house I was living in, about 50 ro 60 yards away in the pasture. Very scary when I started thinking about it.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun

By the men who moil for gold;

The Arctic trails have their secret tales

That would make your blood run cold;

The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,

But the queerest they ever did see

Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge

I cremated Sam McGee.

Strange?  I don't know if strange describes anything that I've seen in the wilderness, though I have seen UFOs on 2 different occassions in the nights sky.  I have also seen a deer attack a tree limb that resembled a bucks antlers.  Fight didn't last long though.  I wonder how long the buck ran around with the tree limb tangled up in his rack. :D

Now that would be YouTube worthy! (the buck fighting a tree) Kinda like the episode on "When Animals Attack" where this @zz clown decides to rub deer pheremones (the female kind) on his clothes and then walks up to a huge buck in rut season. Needless the say the guy got the crap beat out of him. It would have been even funnier if the buck would of put this guy over a log and had his way with him! Now THAT would be entertainment of the Swede kind!

The strangest thing I've seen in the forest is the "Rainbow People". First time I seen them was in the Shawnee Forest in southern Il during one of our trail rides in the fall.  These people are from all over the United States and abroad, one week out of the year to go to different National Parks and spend a week .....quote...." living free"........ It is quite a site to see, with small communities like, set up, with tents, happy070.gif and sometimes no tents and sleeping on the bare ground. They not only sleep on the bare ground , but if they want to ....."make luv".... censored.gif They dont care if  you see them as you ride by on the trail or not. Lots of them walk around without clothes on anyway, and dont care what others think.  8|

When you come to their "village" sorta speak..... they invite you in to eat or drink with them and you can also take stuff in with you to trade for some of the things they offer, like food or drink and some even have jewelry to sell or trade.  :cool:

Anyway if you want to know more about them, just type in Rainbow People in the search engine. :scared:

Most of them are very friendly people as they are doctors, lawyers, white collar workers, as well as ordinary people. There were a few that were arrested for drunkeness the last time we seen them down there, but most are alright.

I'm sure they do go to Fla on occassion.
