In a lot of cases in the woods, the half hitch is a very good knot to use. It holds well and is easily undone when ready to leave.

thats the nice thing about bowlines....you can always find a part to break loose no matter how much tention was on them...best thing for tying up boats and pulling trees down.....

Mrs Swede told me the other day to tie her up and I could do what I wanted. I used a combination of square knots timber hitches and half hitches than I went fishing.
