I've done a lot of hunting with a Crossman air rifle...nothing like those, I put more rabbits on the table with it than with all other guns combined. Gotta go start supper now as this thread has made me very hungry!

Apparently not in the UK and Scotland. Here is an excerpt from this page

http://www.againstcorvidtraps.co.uk/

"The traps can be used legally only to catch birds such as magpies and crows, and only members of the crow family can be used as bait. James Shuttlewood, 40, head keeper of the Snilesworth estate, pleaded guilty to five charges of permitting the use of traps"

Here is another page on the subject

all corvids are classe as pests here! magpies are a favorite quarry here as are jays,i guess there arent so many in the US! over here once caught its illegal to release them as theyre on the governments list of pests on general liscence.

i often teather a white ferret as a lure, they soon turn p in the trees calling.

What's a  good brand/ moddle air gun for hunting

any prechargd airgun is best,a lot less noisey than the spring powered ones! theoben, crossman or BSA are very good! we are limeted by the power we can use ie only 12ft/lbs  i presumeyou guys can have them far above that!
