I thought about this when replying to the sunglasses thread.  For those of use with less than perfect vision, do you bring a backup set of glasses or contacts with you into the woods?

I don't take an extra pair with me in my pack.  My vision is decent enough to get me back to the Jeep.  But I do keep a spare pair in the Jeep.  I definitely need them for the drive home.

On a multy day trek/hunt (canoe or otherwise) I do certainly bring a spare pair of glasses in a hard case in a secure pocket of my larger bag. On a single day hike, I may bring an extra pair if I have the roomand remember. I have a dedicated pair of glasses for outdoor activities (synthetic frame, photo grey, UV protected, elastic head band (can you say nerd boy) which I use and I always keep my old pairsas back ups.

I keep a mag. loop in a chest pocket to do the close up jobs.
