Watcher and Razor Hit the Woods!

Recommended Posts

This past weekend Razor and I packed into a local park by us and tested out our survival skills, while keeping a decent amount of modern gear with us to ensure security and comfort.

And if ANYONE can tell my why imageshack seems to think all my pictures should be sideways when they start upright, it would be greatly appreciated.  I appologize for any sideways pictures.

Tracks beside the river, what are the slide marks?

The River

Our water filter we made to use pre boil to eliminate sediment and such from the water.  We used a layer of finely crushed charcoal, then a layer of sand, then a layer of grasses on top.

My shelter, GI poncho over top, then two trash bags filled with leaves underneath, then I got in my bivy bag with a wool blanket.  It wasn't the best nights sleep, but not to bad either.

Great pictures My friend. What a great adventure. Ill have to have a go at turning the pictures back up when I get time.

Some where on that lake is a beaver hut. Those are drag marks from either beavers or muskrats pulling limbs into the water. My guess is beavers.

Thanks both of you for your efforts.       :arigato:

Nice Shots Watcher. Thanks for sharing with us.

You need to secure your bedroll to your pack so it don't hit you in the knees.  Nice looking pack

I thought you were camping by a lake. There is no way I would camp there without a fishing pole. That river looks full of cat fish to me. Dip cheese this time of year.

I copied them to my desk top into windows picture and fax viewer. Theres an option in it to turn the picture.

Watcher / Razor -

Looks like a great outing!  I think a few of those peppers would have helped out the stew, Watcher.

I love the idea of filling the garbage bags with leaves to sleep on!!

Thanks for the pictures and let me know when you guys might be heading out again.

OFG.
