Wolf Packs - Getting to big and becoming a problem in Alaska

Recommended Posts

The wolf packs here in Alaska are starting to get to large and are becoming a serious problem.

http://www.adn.com/2010/03/11/1179489/troopers-release-statement-today.html,   This was a attack that killed a woman back in march.

This topic isn't about whether there should be or not be culling of wolf packs. It is to just information on news stories from Alaska involving wolves and mankind.

~ Well, maybe folks need to start raising those Pyrenees mountain dog puppies with their kids and families....   and always take one with you when you go out jogging in Alaska.

That or just carry a gun. Or some bear spray. Does Bear spray work on Wolves?

Their environment is shrinking....  we're bound to have encounters.

Bear spray will work on them. But remember there is always more than one and they circle their prey.

The wolf population is increasing up here.

I love the wolf, but the population needs to be kept in check. We are having BIG problems with them in Northern Wisconsin.

We have a pack just a few miles north of us.  I don't fear them at all, but will not allow my dog in the areas they call home.  The creature I fear the most in my neck of the woods are ticks.
