we made a trip to the climbing wall. Ronin actually made it to the bell on his second try without falling. not bad for the gravitationally challenged  even old razor put his long rested skills to the test and climbed the tower.... yeah, ive still got it. stuck a terrific one handed lung to a bucket on the overhang. wish i had video...only to prove us old fat guys can still get it done

now the scouts found a huge timber spider in one of there tents. we caught it in a cup. i had no idea strong growing younge men could scream like girlscouts  :P  you couldnt get the cup 10 feet from them (i have video but i cant get it to load to my computer) anyways to show them that there isnt anything to be afraid of i let the spider crawl on me. it worked. they quit screaming  i love how its eyes reflect the flash in the last picture.

I used to work with a retired master chief. Every year the Girl Scouts would run him down like a pack a hyenas and make him buy cookies. Girls Scouts are hard core! Great pictures!

here is my boy and another one of our scouts earning there shotgun merit badge. for the shooting portion they had to break 12 of 25 clays. the other scout broke 20 of 25 twice and Ronin broke 19 of 25 and 20 of 25. even the istructor was impressed with both of them. (you can tell by the smile on his face

The sights on most those rifles arnt regulated to point of impact.  They shoot for groups not score anyways.  To earn there mrrit badge they have to shoot 5 groups that can be coverd with a quarter.  I dont know how they do it. Most the rifles have nasty triggers .

it was camp c.s. Klaus. up by earlvill i think.  they had a terrific staff and an excellent program. all my scouts earned 4-5 merit badges apiece.  i got to run the rifle and shotgun range for a few hours a couple days and helped 4 scouts from other troops earn there shotgun merit badges that were having trouble hitting the clays.  it was as much fun as i could have and i know the boys had a great week.  all the campsites are at the top of a 200 foot hill so they got plenty of exercise to.  i timed it. the first time up the hill took me almost 6 minutes (lots of switchbacks) the last time took me just a bit over 2 and ahalf minutes.  i lost 7 pounds over the week and that was even with the excellent food they provided us. now I'm motivated to get back in shape...I'm going to concour that hill in 2 minutes next year.  lol

this was razors world for a week. i actually had a comfy cot. i might get me one of those things  moose0024.gif  i only shut the flaps on my tent one night during a storm that lasted a couple hours. otherwise i had a great breeze blowing threw almost every night. and never once got a mosquito bite even though we never put on any bug repellent.
