Ok, we have lots of ground to cover.  This was a couple of days after I was in Rhode Island, but before I went to the  baseball game (and I only stopped by an airport to pick up someone).  The first time I have been to this state too (it does not start with "R"). We left early in the morning, drove along the coast, stopped for lunch and made it here in time for dinner (could that be a hint? ???...).

The road actually came to an end here.

I got to meet my dinner before it was cooked and it was amazingly tasty after it was cooked. Far and away the BEST lobster I have ever had.  They doesn't get any fresher than that.

Yes, north of the equator, in North America, no baseball team here.

This place was awesome. Standing on the dock, anywhere you looked was a postcard and getting there was almost comical.  We drove completely through Georgetown, didn't see the place, went back and asked. The lady at the shopped laughed and said "Just keep going on that road.  You will come over a hill and see lots of water - it's at the end of the road."

On the way out, we stopped at a state park and spent some time on the coast just watching the waves.

The drive back to Boston took 3-4 hours, but it was worth the trip.

On the drive up, we stopped a couple of times to take a walk along the beach and see couple light houses.

You guys really suck at this....lol.

This is the first time I have visited this state (which is the only state with starts with this letter...(yeah, that's a hint).)  I was here before I went to the baseball game, but it is normally less than an hour drive from there.

In 1938, this area, including the town of Bristol, was hammered by a hurricane which produced a storm surge over over 15 feet, which hit at high tide, making things even worse.

That's Maine, baby! Doesn't matter where, it's all good. Get yourself some blueberry pie while you're there.

Crap...I forgot about the blueberry pie, but I did also have a lobster roll for lunch with blueberry lemon aid and we also picked up some salt water taffy.

I thought you said that the state you were in started with a letter that no other state started with.

I did.  I was in Rhode Island.  Which other states start with the letter "r"?

This was the day after the trip to Maine and took a good hour to hike into the falls.  This is listed as the top waterfall in New England.

ARETHUSA FALLS

New Hampshire

Great call, SG!!!  That is it.  It was an hour hike in, but well worth it. Started sprinkling while we were there and by the time we got back to the parking lot, it was pouring. We were completely soaked through, but it was an adventure.

~ I'm so lost.  :S

...awww...the sweet smell of success.  lol

Sorry taken.  I did make it to Vermont during my excursions on the east coast, but I'll just let that one slide.

I'll give you a couple of hours to recover before I start the next one....where I am now.  :naughty:

Ok, a recap...

Flew to Boston on 7/25, drove to Rhode Island, worked there on 7/26, then drove back to Boston.

Left on the morning of 7/27, drove up the coast through New Hampshire into Maine, out to Five Islands Lobster Company for dinner, returned to Boston that night.

On Saturday, 7/28, drove into New Hampshire and hit the hiking trails on a quest for as many waterfalls as possible (more pictures to follow).  Made a big loop and then went over into Vermont, hiking into the last waterfall there as the sun set, out as it got dark, then we had a 3 hour drive back to Boston.

My company's Users Group conference was in Boston, so worked that on Mon, Tue and Wed, then started teaching class on Wed afternoon.

Wednesday evening, Aug 1, ventured out to a Red Sox game at Fenway.

Class all day on Thursday and until noon on Friday, packed up the server, laptops, printer, etc on Friday afternoon, and caught a flight out of Logan back to Iowa on Saturday morning, getting back to Iowa about 4:00pm.

Back in the office the week of Aug 6th, on Friday, Aug 9th stopped at the future birthplace of Capt. James T. Kirk in Riverside, Iowa.

Back in the office on Monday, Aug 13, left again on Tuesday for parts unknown....

(....to be continued..)
