Checked traps this morning and you'll never guess what I caught.... Nothing! Starting to become slightly discouraged at the fact that I cant catch a squirrel with a brain the size of a pea.

Its not about the catch its about the time in the woods Greene

Hell tomorrows the first day I have to set traps and I'm gonna be spending most of the day cleaning up after some jackass that cut trees down and just left them where my kids go hiking and playing in the woods by the house

No I have not but I haven't really targeted them either I trapped possums coons and muskrats

I also trapped a skunk once and that was the one and only time I will catch a skunk

Scent control is a big thing when targeting fox and coyotes

I said I never caught a fox didn't say that I can't give u tips to increase the likely catch rate

How do I limit the amount of scent I leave around the area? Also if I were to use gray fox urine and a red fox was in the area do you think it would still come check it out?

Try a dirt hole set at the edge of a field and make sure its away from any objects that the fox can't see around or over

Try a chunk of rotten meat for bait cause foxes usually cache food in winter and any fox will happily eat the food of another fox

Wear latex gloves when staking bedding and covering the trap

Urine is a scent marker for fox u may actually increase the odd of a catch if u sprinkle fox urine on a set after adding meat bait
