In your area, there are all kinds of different ducks and gulls. I think that Canadian geese are already on the list. This is a pretty good site that might help: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/search/ I use their smart phone app. It picks up your location, you answer a few questions and most of the time, the bird you are trying to identify is near the top of the list.
